Fauvist Cityscapes
Students were introduced to the Fauvist Art Movement and its pioneering use of non-representational colors. They also learned about the three types of perspective, namely one-point, two-point, and three-point perspective, and how artists use these strategies to create depth and perspective in their artwork. To apply their learnings, the students were assigned to draw a realistic cityscape using perspective techniques, while also incorporating Fauvist style colors in their artwork. They used pastels and techniques such as hatching, blending, layering, scumbling, and stippling to add vibrancy and color to their cityscapes.
